Avoid Perfectionism in Your Efforts

You may have some decent ideas or plans for a particular project. But, you are still confused doing it, because the inner voice inside you is saying, "You are not capable to do it", "Who do you think you are", "You need such and such things to do that", and etc. Those voices might not be unfamiliar to most of us. As a matter of fact, they often make us shy to put our first step in an extraordinary adventure in creating something or stop us to have invaluable experience by doing something.

Expecting the perfect something or being perfect someone is not a wise approach in life. Beware, in this life, things work gradually. A runner started putting his first step barely when he was a child, a writer begins from learning letters one by one, and a craft requires tons of practice before reaching the customer. So why do we need to make things difficult? Our job is to start doing it, practicing every day and making it a little bit better than yesterday. This should be enough to be creative or acquiring mastery whatever you want to be. The more you practice and stay with your task at hand, the better you become in it.

I think we need to correct our thought and attitude before starting our project or action toward our goal. Here, I listed some of the advices on overcoming the attitude of perfectionism.
  1. Nothing or no human being is perfect in this life.

  2. Everything starts with its odd and straightforward origin.

  3. Perfect crafts are the evolutions of simple steps.

  4. Perfection comes with a practice

  5. Your small actions can lead to tremendous results.

  6. Do it anyway, don't hesitate.

  7. Making mistakes is not a bad thing.

  8. Faults and errors educate you to do things correctly.

  9. Do your homework, and that is it.

  10. Be patient in your early days if things do not work well.

  11. Spend enough time before setting high expectations for your results.

  12. Through your effort, your confidence will boost.

  13. You do not need to announce your work everyone, keep it with yourself until you become confident enough.

  14. Avoid being perfect in your work.
