Examining the heart and feelings gives us a better understanding of ourselves and helps us to purify our thoughts. Here I would like to write about questioning the heart and correcting the thoughts.
The urge is not the source of pleasure. Our urge such as to have more, to earn more, to use more can't be fulfilled unless we firmly say "I am grateful for what I have" and practicing gratitude. The objects we poses are not the only source of pleasure. This instinct may work against you, and you may need to sacrifice a lot of things for it. Calculate for your Never allow your urge to destroy you.
Seek pleasure and peace in your inner feelings. Observe your feelings and your heart. What are you chasing for? What are the things that bother you? Analyze them and ask are they worse to think and worry about.
Live with your pace. Be confident and grateful for all your belongings and your abilities. Do not be ashamed or feel week if you are not good with something. Nobody is perfect. Just be okay and start working hard to learn that skill.
Follow the right people and things. Do not blindly imitate the people in worldly things, like the following fashion, chasing the latest accessories and gadgets, eating expensive foods, etc. Imitate them in good, try to practicing their best works.
Read more and learn more. This gives inner peace and helps to control your activities. Learn from the wise people. Refine your thought and beliefs with new ideas.
Who are you after 20 years? Imagine yourself after 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, and 100 years. Look at the things from those perspectives. This outlook changes the course of most of your feelings and helps to solve your problems.
Think about your death. Imagine your death and set your priority in your life accordingly. Did you do your tasks given by your Creator? What was your legacy? Did you do all you can do in your life? What others might say about you?
I think those are some of the ideas to help us to correct our thoughts and directions we are following.
