It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.
~ Epictetus
In life, we live with people and have a relationship with them. We care about our close people, help them as much as we can, share our happiness and sorrow with them, and advise each other when we don't know or stuck with problems. Having a good relationship makes us more confident and comfortable in the community, workplace, neighborhood, and other places where we engage with people. However, it is not always easy to have a good relationship.
To improve our relationship with people, I think we need to understand how things work in a relationship and communication.
Here, I listed some useful ideas on the relationship with people. Although most of them are familiar to us, I think it is worse to repeat them in order to benefit more and correct our perception.
- Be grateful to people.
- Be open-face and have a smile when you meet with people.
- It is okay to hear some bad words about yourself from people.
- Be resilient when you work with people.
- Have confidence and belief about who you are and what you do.
- Do not push yourself to do the things that are out of your capability just to win the people.
- Be nice to people, say hello and help them as much as you can, but never expect anything from them.
- Most of the friendship ends when the benefits are conflicted or no benefits remain.
- Be nice to everyone, but never trust anyone.
- People have their own problems, they don't care or think about you.
- Your look and appearance play a more important role in your career, job, and relationship.
- Most of the time you will be judged or your potential is assessed by your handsome face rather than your skills.
- Try to feel confident even you are not confident enough.
- Never try to win the people's respect or attract their attention by fake action. Win respect and attention through genuine communication.
- Accept people as they are. You can't find perfect human beings, everyone has good sides as well as bad sides.
- Stay in your best self when relationships are torn down.
- Try to eliminate your ego when you deal with people
- Stay away from envy. Beware, it is the source of all evil.
