13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do

   A very inspiring book and I highly recommend to read it. 
My takeaways from this book are:

  1. Do not sit feeling sad and pity. Accept everything as it is, be grateful for what you have, replace your discouraging thought with inspiring one.
  2. Do not empower problematic people with paying attention. With your attention, they will become bigger and bigger in your mind and you feel helpless in front of them. Just forget them, engage with your own work, know that it is your choice to accept them or not. 
  3. Be ready for changes. Be ready to expand your comfort zone. This may bring more opportunities into your life
  4. Don’t try to change the things that are not in your control. Do not spend your energy on the things that are not in your scope. Work on what you can change. 
  5. Don't try to please everyone. Trying to please everyone might be a selfish act to get approval from everyone. Live truly with your values and eventually, people more appreciate you for being honest with them.  
  6. Don't fear to take the risks. The emotional aspect of the choices may stop us from taking action most of the time. Taking a carefully calculated risk may provide extraordinary results.
  7. Don't dwell on past memories. Living with negative past memories is harmful, get a lesson, accept it as an experience but do not live with them. And don't say if I did not do that or did that ... , past is already past away, live with your day.
  8. Don't make the same mistake again and again.
  9. Be tolerant of other's success. Learn them, cooperate with them on your purposes, focus on your own strength.
  10. Don't give up after the first failure or mistakes. Know that feeling bad or embarrassed is a part of the process at the beginning. Feel that feeling but do not allow them to stop you on your goal. Learning from your failure and mistakes makes you stronger for the next challenges.    
  11. Learn to be alone with your thoughts and goals. Mentally strong people often stay in silence and solitude. During that period they think or create the most important ideas. 
  12. Don't expect something from people or society. Give them, add value to something, don't live with the feeling that people should give you something or praise you for your work.
  13. Know it takes time for results. Know that it takes time to achieve something. Learn to be patient, and delay your gratification.
