My Lessons From The Book Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway

Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway
book by Susan Jeffers

Everyone has a feeling of fear in doing things like public speaking, being alone, aging, losing money, becoming poor, etc. The fear is a natural and healthy feeling of human beings which warns us from the potential threats. Right perception and conscious management can help us to overcome and take advantage of it. The book "Feel the fear and do it anyway" explains how to educate ourselves to control our fear and deal with it effectively.

The truth about fear. Know that everyone has a fear and it stays with us all the time. The only thing we can do with fear is that to understand it, act respectively, and move forward.

Go out and do it. Fear does not have the end, as we go forward it comes along the way. There are doubts and fear before doing anything new. Once we acquire enough experience in it, fear disappears itself. Thus the first step to overcome the fear is to go out and do it.

Expand your comfort zone by doing the tasks that fear you most. By doing it we can overcome the fears that stopping us and have a feeling of self-worse.

Do not make yourself victimized by the action of the others and do not expect too much from the people. Do it yourself what you are waiting for, find out ways that can provide you the feeling that you are looking for or waiting from the people. Expecting or waiting from the people too much creates feelings of anger, self-pity, dependency, and pain that may crash you mentally and physically. Be proactive, take initiative and act.

Take responsibility. Taking responsibility means that to stop blaming others, not allowing the outside negative things to affect you, and having a clear idea of your goals and priorities.

Say "yes" and accept the things as they are. Most of the time our irritation, worry, pain, and etc., come from the things we don't like or can't change the course. By willingly accepting them, we'll find a relief and our suffer becomes less painful.

I highly recommend to read this book.
