Takeaways: The Tools by Phil Stutz and Barry Michels

The Tools: 5 Tools to Help You Find Courage, Creativity, and Willpower - and Inspire You to Live Life in Forward Motion
by Phil Stutz,‎ Barry Michels

The book covers useful techniques and practices on self-control, courage, and self-development. How to control oneself and pass through the difficult moments are explained and certain exercises and practicing are recommended.

If you really want to benefit from this book, then you should apply those practices into your life. I found 'The Tools' very helpful and highly recommend to read it.

Here are my lessons and takeaways from the book:
    1.  Bring that fear. Feel and experience painful moments in your mind and remind yourself that pain makes me only stronger and this works for my growth. This exercise may free us from painful emotions.

   2.  Cross your comfort zone. Know that our comfort zone is a too small place we used to stay. There is a border with pain that we hate to step ahead if we can just cross that painful border, we will find a lot of opportunities there.

   3. Inner authority. Accept your 'shadow character' that is an anxious, ungrateful, lazy, and angry voice inside you. Listen and be tolerant with that shadow, by slowly guiding it to the right way, you will get authority over it.

   4. Be grateful. Gratitude elevates a cloud of grief above us. It provides peace and a positive attitude. Being grateful opens up opportunities.

   5. Remember death often. Remembering a deathbed moment provides an appreciation of our present, willpower to do our tasks in a priority, and peace in mind for tomorrow.

You will find a lot of interesting and useful ideas in this book.

Thank you for reading!
